Official Lumia 920 GDR2/Amber Update Thread

1GB of Other Storage...and No, Amber didn't help clean any of it (lame!). I feel for you bro, thats a lot of storage hostage.

A friend of mine has been very unlucky, his L920 was stuck at 11 gb pre-amber and its been a week post amber and no reduction.

White pasta= overhead light and no flash

Yellow pasta = no overhead light and flash

Not same lighting condition = bad comparison


Not to mention different focal distance and the spoon in the bowl was moved

I've flashed the french rom and noticed that the red battery icon that appears when you plug in the phone after it has died is gone.... Is it just me?

Yeah I was thinking of that but I'm scared of bricking up my phone, again. Maybe one of these days I'll do that if I need that 6.3 GB they took from me.

EE Amber ROM on NCS, get it quick!

Just checked NCS and Amber rom for EE product code 059R1W5 is on server. 3047.0000.1326.2021

Is this an indication of anything? Does it show the OTA will be imminent for EE users? Is that how the pattern works for other carriers generally? Im not looking to flash my 920 but i would like to know.

Hard to tell really, If it gets removed from NCS servers again I would guess that it has just been released for EE testing and could be a while before OTA. This is only an educated guess!

Cant' detect wifi after Amber update.

Hi guys,
I got an issue here on my Lumia 920. I live in Malaysia at the moment. 2 days ago, the Amber update has started to roll out in Malaysia. I have no problem updating my phone. All ran smoothly. I can use all the feature, and no problem at all, until I figure out I can't detect my wifi at my home. This was not happening before amber update, seriously. Tried to asked to Nokia Malaysia, they said tried to reset my phone. I did reset my phone, but still can't detect my wifi network. Then they said to change my wifi router channel to 11. Well, I don't think this solves the problem. This phone support all wifi network 802.11 a/b/g/n, then why I can't see wifi network using my lumia 920 as my laptop does? This was really no issue before Amber update. Anyone facing this kind of issue? Please advise.

ps: I can see other networks using my phone, but some wifi network seems undetectable now using my lumia 920

My proximity sensor stopped working. Turning phone off/back on fixed it, never happened pre-GDR2.

i have the same issue.
phone stops auto rotation and pro cam does'nt launch from camera button.

Hello everyone! I think you could help me. Look, I'm still waiting for the Amber update as many of you, but I just don't know which country I should check for the update state. I bought by phone from Chile, but I'm quite sure the enterprise imported the phones. Anyway, I send you the information I found:

Go to your windows phone settings tile, click on "more info", then get the firmware version.

please refer to the this link to check the Amber update availability in your country: Availability in Latin America - Nokia

if you did not find your phone latest firmware version in your country list then you have to check the other countries on the left side of the link. hope this helps.

Thank you for your time. However, as I said, although I bought the cell phone from Chile, this one was imported from some place else. I think this is the ROM: RM_821_im_mea3_49. But, I don't know which country it belongs to. I'd be glad if you could help me what country is "mea3".

it is not cuming

go to your phone's settings, then "display+touch" and swipe your screen from right to left and choose "glance". from there you can setup what glance function you want.

Last time i spoke to OrangeEE regarding the update, they said it was coming, but not to expect before September.

1232.5957.1308.0002 is my current firmware. Received the GDR2 update 3 days ago but did not get Radio, for instance and still no Amber update, even though my country shows as "available" on Nokia's list.

3047.0000.1326.2002 shows as the available firmware but it looks QUITE different compared to my current firmware.

Lumia 920 Movistar 1232.5957.1308.0002 Waiting for approval

Waiting for approval means they are currently testing the updates. After this, it will become, Coming Soon, which means testing for final release. And of course, Available means Amber update is ready to be download over-the-air (OTA).

You have to wait for a while.
