Re: (Official) Why I don't like WP8 Part 2 (What WP needs to succeed)

Can't believe they haven't fixed a huge issue like the music problem yet. They finally fixed the sync and I can get music on my phone but now the songs just duplicate. Drives me crazy.

CRAZY

I am still flabbergasted that such a basic and essential element is below par and I am seriously thinking about switching back to iOS. I do not want to switch back but they almost leave me no choice.

I listen to music, via bluetooth, in the car and I want to sync parts of my iTunes library with phone. So far what I found
1. When I switch my car to bluetooth the music does not resume playing (in fact it almost never resumes playing) and if there was nothing on it should just randomly play songs from my phone and not the internet
2. It's impossible to sync my library, songs get duplicated and playlists are empty, errors occur during sync. And I've used WP App preview 3, DoubleTwist and MusicBee.
3. Within a few touches I want to play the playlist or song/album that I like and this was just more user friendly and quicker in iOS.
4. Where is the slider to skip to a certrain point in a track? I'm not able to find it and when you're listening to mixtapes that can take over an hour you just want to skip to the middle or the good part quickly.

It really is driving my crazy, CRAZY!

Re: (Official) Why I don't like WP8 Part 2 (What WP needs to succeed)

The biggest thing that I want from WP8 is total carrier support behind all of the updates. I was so used to getting updates right away with iOS and now with WP I feel like it takes forever for Microsoft and the Carriers to agree on updates. It frustrates me so much...

Re: WP Feature request: Locking Preferred Signal

There is that feature but its only accessible from the dialer by dialing a secret code, generally something like ##3246##, it varies by phone model and carrier. Problem with using this is instead of the phone falling back to 2G you will lose signal entirely.

in lumia 620 doesn't work, so how to lock 3G signal ONLY in lumia 620 ? anybody can help me ? please..

Improvements for WP8

Hey guys,

I have compiled a list of improvements I would like to see in WP8. Feel free to add your own suggestions and maybe someone can re-compile and send this to Microsoft.

Thanks

Kind of amazing you put together a list and didn't mention anything about the music problems.

Re: (Official) Why I don't like WP8 Part 2 (What WP needs to succeed)

Lol...Man there are some people who are unable to read......I stated I needed notifications. This was met with, why do you need a notification centre, Did I say anything about a notification centre....erm no............Live tiles kinda work, but not always. I want instant notifications, I want to be able to chat to friends on FB and not have some ridiculous delay, other OS's do this so why cant MS...I love the 920, but doubt I will get another WP....It is behind in so many areas, My mobile ( Or my old IPhone ) was my communications hub, now I reply to late, miss updates and feel like using my laptop because the mobile device I have cant even work in a mobile environment.

Live tiles sometimes work for FB
Live Tiles sometimes work for Twitter
Live Tiles sometimes work for mail

I dont want sometimes I want consistency, I want proper Notifications I can rely on

Here endith the rant

Why can't I save email attachment (other than office files) directly to the phone?
Why can't I see (from explorer) an office file saved from an email when connecting the phone to a computer?

Charging sound and silent mode

Hey,

Does anyone know when the update on these two things are coming?

A) Charging sound when you insert the charging cable into Lumia or plug it out. You can't switch the sound off without switching all the notification sounds off?
B) Silent mode in the quick set menu at the home screen. There are only Sounds on and vibrate.

How hard is it to fix these??

If you compare all of the current platforms they all have issues but window devices are far superior in the speed department. No other device is as reliable as a windows phone as far as reboots and freezing. I have used them all and just lately the new Blackberry Z10 and no question in my opinion WP8 is a superior platform that most don't know about.

You can save any kind of file as long as you have an app that understand the extension of the file you are downloading.
Sync is done via Skype for most of your files so you won't see them in explorer. So save your doc from email to sky drive and you can see it anywhere.

Re: (Official) Why I don't like WP8 Part 2 (What WP needs to succeed)

I am trying to find out about the Nokia 920 an Java. I was told but haven't seen, that Windows 8 will not have Java installed and that it can't be done. I am having trouble loading some web pages related to my work and I think it is a Java issue. Can anybody shed some light on this? In addition, I have an old Nokia CK7W handsfree and, while the pairing process is pretty painless, I have drop-out issues within the car where the bluetooth cuts out during conversations. Anyone help with this one? Would be nice to have some zoom capability on the camera. I generally like the phone - find it good to use.

I updated to the 920 from the N8. One feature it had that I loved was the "Play By Radio" feature which tuned to phone into an FM radio station so you could play your music in full stereo - really good - wish the 920 had it.

Eric12341 closed my thread and directed me here. doesn't make any sense as I never said I don't like WP8. This thread title is complexly irrelevant to what I wanted to say. Its like posting about Facebook problems in a WhatsApp thread.

I love WP8, more than any phone operating system there has been!

Re: (Official) Why I don't like WP8 Part 2 (What WP needs to succeed)

windows phone need to prove some good games as android and ios . They need to provide some good games as free , all the boring games are in free and all the good games are paid .

In windows some apps have some bugs , for eg: wats app sucks in windows 8 when compared to android .

i have one doubt windows 8 has good free games in computer and the same games are paid in phone ,it's seriously a crap . Windows need to provide good features to their users other wise every one will move towards android and they also need to provide a file manager so that we can delete the cache and temp files .
