As far as getting your apps back after a hard reset, it's pretty painless. Just open the Store app and go to My Library. All the apps you've ever installed are listed and you can reinstall directly from the list.

phone charged twice today, nohing really too hard core in terms of usage, so i dont know whats going on. Ive turned off everything or nearly everything running in the background, im suspect about whatsapp, it gets hot when sending a few messages and looking at pics.

i'm actually going to go over old threads about battery drain to see if there is anything else i can turn off. the battery app is saying current discharging is about 9.64% and thats with light use. will monitor it again to see if i can see whats going on, the standard battery use app really only shows screen is the biggest use.

downloaded the app, looking at my stats, it was 100% last night i took it off the charger, overnight it had dropped to 84% by 9.30am.

However current discharging rate is 8.55% per hour, is that good, i would imagine if its idle it should be less than that.

Yes, it dhould be far less. Mine average is 5.8% And idle when wifi on, around 4% per hour.

it must be a app running in the background, without deleting them all and adding one by one, for some reason i think its whatsapp. the battery app isnt telling me anything really with regards to what is causing the drain.

My discharge rate is typically under 4% and I use my phone a lot. I did a hard reset after having the phone less than a week, back in early December. Don't recall what it was before the hard reset.
I don't have WhatsApp.

It pays to have more then 1 phone, I have 2 phones that I swap the SIM card, I can't do it with the
950 since it takes a nano SIM. I have the BLU WIN HD LTE, running Windows 8.1 and a Nokia
520 running Windows Insider 10. The 950 XL I just use on WiFi When the battery runs low on
Nokia I move the SIM card back to the BLU phone. I then put the Nokia on charge.

I am having similar issues. Just in the last week and a half I started experiencing 8%/hr drain. Also The phone getting warm. Mind you this is on the XL. I feel like something is up on the SW side as before i would use 3%/hr...

Mexico, Lumia 950XL Dual Sim (only one Sim in use) build .71, last firmware. My phone is better than ever. Yesterday i unplugged the phone from the wall charger around midnight, today i still have 50% of battery charge. Normal use, only LTE connection. Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Tweet It! always in background. Hard reset after the update to .71 and no backup restore.

Here's an idea, don't sign up for the preview updates if you don't want a glitchy phone. Wait for the official release if you don't want to deal with the bugs. Its that simple!

disagree. this phone (950) has been glitchy out of the box. these updates should generally improve things (granted, not always). .71 has been released to the slow ring meaning it is stable and near good enough for general release. however it's still half baked.

I have the L950XL and luckily have not had any of the issues you raised. Yours must be faulty, I would personally return it as faulty and get it replaced while its still under warranty.
