Noting my order was "In process" all day yesterday, while people were walking into brick and mortar stores and picking them up, I was getting more and more steamed. Customer support told me they were having trouble verifying my payment information...the same information used to ship the type cover which already arrived. After several attempts to rectify the situation, I gave up and cancelled the order. I live in Manhattan and a Best But wasn't too far out of the way. I called to make sure they had stock and offered to pay in advance over the phone. The nice young lady said "no need, we have plenty in stock". Of course when I got there, what do you think happened? Blowing a gasket at Best Buy, the clerk told me the new flagship store was ten or twelve blocks up Fifth Avenue. Fine...I hot foot it up Fifth because, of course, it's one way going downtown and I can't grab a taxi. I get to the store and it's total mayhem in there being rush hour on product release day. Luckily, I got a salesperson who was able to find the (almost) model I wanted and started to ring me up. I only had an ATM card with me, but no prob "we'll just run it as credit".....declined. Two or three more blocks to a bank branch to extract my money and back to the store. Only took the salesperson 20 minutes to figure out how to count change from the cash purchase. Finally home with my device last night and a couple hours setting everything up. Fast forward to work this morning on Wall Street and I take my new Surface Tab out and.....it's refusing to accept my password...repeatedly. On the phone with tech support for over an hour and he's now telling me I need to do a system recovery. Uh, no....Back uptown to the Flagship Store....where everything worked fine. How's your morning going?
