Outer screen replacement possible without changing Digitizer LCD?

Hi guys,

I bought an outer screen on ebay for $15 which seemed like a good idea seeing as my smashed screen still works fine, it's just smashed, the touch works flawlessly, there is no tutorial on changing just the outer screen, is it possible??

Don't know about the 930, but the L1520 has the glass factory heat sealed to the digitizer assembly. Even if you get the cracked glass off, re-sealing the new screen is very difficult. I would imagine the 930 might be the same.

Search for the Service Manual online & see.

Very difficult for a home DIYer. It's much easier to buy the whole assembly, for around $130, and replace that as a unit.
