People Hub acts strangely

several days ago, I updated my phone to 8.1 GDR 1
unfortunately, 2 days ago I cleared the cache of IE and I lose every contact link in the People hub because Facebook got unsynced

today, I tried to re-sync Facebook using a public Wi-Fi, but the connection speed let me down
anyway, while the sync was unsuccessful, I got my friends list back albeit with low resolution profile picture

after I realized it, I tried to re-link my contacts with their Facebook profile
but then, for some unknown reason, some profiles were removed from the hub and when I attempted to find those profiles, the app crashed... twice!

anybody else got bad experience in the People Hub after the update?

I've found something about this:
Apparently, the Hotmail account recognizes the link between its contacts and the respective Facebook profile...
But, as the Facebook app got unsynced and failed to sync properly afterwards, it broke the People hub

we'll see what happen after a proper synchronization commenced...
