Try with the flash on. The Xenon flash should help "freeze" the drops. I had decent results with the shutter at 16000 and flash on, with snow and faucet drips. Hard to get a snowflake in focus though, I just set the focus manually and hoped. Take enough pictures and you'll get one in good focus. I'll try again when I get some larger snowflakes falling.

Hey guys. I'm looking for a tripod for my 1020 and I would like to ask if you can recommend me any. I'd like a tripod with adjustable height for the max 40 Euros (54 USD). It will be used only with the 1020 so I don't need anything profi as I'm only an amateur photographer. Thanks for the tips!

I'd recommend a gorillapod by Joby (www.joby.com) instead if you're going to use it for the Lumia 1020 only. So portable and much more practical for such a case.

If I'm entirely honest, I don't think Canon et al will be going anywhere just yet. Some of those photos are nice enough for forum posts and the like but I'm sure most people would want something much better to mark one of the most important days in their lives. There's a lot of noise when viewing the faces at full resolution.
