At a concert, about 10 feet away in front of the speakers, and about 30 feet from stage or so. The sound quality is absolutely astounding for a smartphone, and the focusing wasn't so bad either for the constantly shifting lighting and the random hands/jumping people around

Great audio indeed! Is that after before or after Lumia Black update?

After the black update, I'm glad I remembered for this band not to cover up a microphone with how I held the phone though, because listening back to earlier recordings where I was (same concert), it was much less good and more muffled. That's something to keep in mind for any recording though I suppose!

You could create "ears" for the phone though with Your hands to capture "more" sound

some from my lil trip to sunny Thailand ;-) more to come ;-) the 1020 makes a great travel buddy , I took a micro 4/3rds as well and ended up using the 1020 for most shots and leaving the g3 sitting in the hotel , the battery can take a hit but with a handy 5000mah battery pack knocking about it was a great little set up and very pocketable and convenient ;-)
