First pic of my eye, was edited and I used a jewelry loupe magnifier as a test to see how well it would work. Reminds me of the zoom lens for the 920.
The lightning was taken the other night and was edited and zoomed. Also the lighthouse was edited.
The cloud pictures are not edited at all.

Just some of my favorite pics recently taken.

Hi i have a question about the photos on taken on my lumia 920

I have noticed that the default max resolution on the 920 is 3552x2000, which equals 71,04,000 pixels = 7.1 Megapixels right ??

Ive also noticed that in an app named "shutter pro" i can capture photos at 3264x2448, which equals 79,90,272 pixels = approx 8 Megapixel....

(also noticed slightly better quality with shutter pro)

The Default camera app also produces photos that are smaller in size (MB) than shutter pro...

Does this mean that effectively the Default camera does not use the cameras full capacity ? if so why since the lumia has a 8.7 mp camera????

( i know the effective megapixels in any digital camera are lower than the given figures)

Limekiln Creek - a little piece of heaven we ran into during our Highway 1 trip. Luckily, it was 10 minutes past sunset so I could reduce the shutter speed (1 sec, I think, thanks to ProShot) to get that awesome silky water-flow effect. We were running a tight schedule so I couldn't stay longer. Love this place. Unedited. For full-res, please visit Lumia 920 awesomeness - a set on Flickr

Some very nice photos there. Do you use a mini tripod?

that's because the native camera, by default, takes photos that have a 16:9 aspect ratio. I believe the default aspect ratio in Shutter Pro is 4:3.

Yes I know about the difference in aspect ratio, however in confused about whether aspect ratio has anything to do with Megapixels ??

yes it does, 4:3 files in stock camera app also give you 8mp images, instead of the 7.1mp in 16:9 ratio

I saw my male Melanotania Nigrans (black band rainbowfish) showing some of his colors and decided to snap a quick pic.
