I'm new to L920, just 2 days since i've got my hands on this beauty. Is there any thread or link for photography tips using Nokia ProCam or default camera on L920? I sometimes get awesome pics and sometimes they are just about average. I would appreciate if you guys can share you suggestions. A tutorial for ProCam and low light photography would be great.

I'd recommend the ProShot app.

http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-phone-apps/215564-loving-proshot-camera-app.html

The developer is very active in that thread and very responsive to questions, continually updating the app to make it the best WP8 camera app.

I just love taking photos during the night - everything is just so much more colorful.

Here is one shot I took at the local mall. This is a really tricky place to photograph. The water jets out in patterns. Jets for a bit, stops for a bit, then jets again from different spouts / different angles. So timing is important. On top of that, there's a really large-screen display towering above the area, running commercials and promotions, whose background color changes every few seconds - from white to red to black depending on the display content. The bright white light from the display made it almost impossible to get a good photograph of the otherwise lovely colors on display. I had to find a vantage point where the light's effect was minimized, and time the shot when the display wasn't at its brightest. After quite a few attempts, I got a few good shots. This is one of them.

Here's another I took, that of a trolley. I think it made for some nice light trails (although the cables make the photo look bad, IMO). Will definitely revisit:

And finally, this one's of one of the buildings in downtown. An extremely different POV to get this shot (considering it's a long exposure):

All those shots were taken quite late in the night and I'm still impressed with how my GDR1/pre-Amber Lumia 920 performs. Can't wait for some Amber goodness.

My Flickr gallery contains the above images and a few more, in full-res glory.

Excellent photos...well done and thanks for sharing. The cables don't ruin the middle photo for me...kinda like how they're reflecting some light.

Thanks a lot. It's not just the middle photo (where the cables are justified because of the trolley appearing in the photo). I have quite a few other photos where they ruin the overall look. For instance, in this one on Flickr, they run right through the buildings and I find it unpleasant :) But I'm up for the challenge and plan to re-visit and find better vantage points. :)

I agree with you for the one posted on Flickr as they're right in the centre of the image in front of the trees.

However, I still think the cables in the trolley photo work. They're not as obtrusive as they run at a similar angle as the trolley and feel a little more natural if that makes sense??

Yup, I agree that they do work in the photo with the trolley. It's just that I've had quite a few photos ruined because of them that I've developed a negative opinion about them right now :) This one is another example, one that I couldn't upload:

But like I said, I'm definitely going to re-visit :)

I have found that any time I use the flash it puts white eye on anyone looking at the camera so I have disabled the flash and the detail is very poor i.e pixelated when trying to enlarge. I had a similar issue with the N96. Im sure there is a setting somewhere to address this but I know little about camera settings

So here is one from my amber lumia 920, shot with oggle. The shot was a complete accident, while having lunch with my gf in a museum. I think the shadows play really well with the shape of her head. Also, note the detail in the buildings you can see through the window (which was across the water in Amsterdam)

Man, these are awesome! Oh, by the way, the cables definitely does NOT make the photo look bad. I kinda like it.

My boyfriend and I went to the NY Renaissance Faire last Saturday... I got a bunch of pics while there; here are just a few:

Us in our costumes in my driveway. My mother captured this one, and sadly, all the shots she got were either too dark or just blah:

This is Buddy, the biggest attention seeker in all of the Parrots of the Caribbean exhibit. He kept doing his balancing act (as pictured below) and kept shouting to grab everyone's attention. I just fell in love with him instantly!
