Poll: What's your profession?

I'm basically a mobility engineer at my company, responsible for our mobile technologies... smartphones, back end infrastructure like Blackberry, Good Messaging server, etc along with stuff like WebEx and some other things. I use a range of devices because of the nature of my job but WP8 is now my daily driver. I'm a Microsoft ****** anyway, but I do love playing with devices to learn what is good and bad about them.

I work in I-T. Come from 4 years ios and 6 months of android. Wanted to try something new. Wp8 needs a lot of work, but I like it and I'm gonna keep the phone. Lots of potential.

Electromechanical Engineer by degree, pharma/biotech facility and manufacturing engineer by paystub.

I'm a web/SharePoint developer, database administrator, and Linux administrator. Most of my time lately has been spent building a data warehousing solution for my company. I switched to WP8 because I was bored with iOS (I'd been an iOS user since the iPhone 3G was first released, I still have my iPhone 3G), I never much cared for Android (I had a Samsung Captivate and a Nexus 7... both kinda bleh), and BlackBerry is just a pain in my butt (we were once a big BB shop and I had to manage the BB server, yuck). I got to play with an HTC WP7 device when my company switched cell providers and I was hooked; as soon as my upgrade was up I dove for WP8. After checking out a few different models (the 920, the 8X, and the 820) I settled on the 820 and I'm very happy.

I am an owner of a real estate and finance business I also am into funding start ups in the tech field. I live in NYC and travel all over the world.

I am a medical student and while there is a lack of great medical apps on the OS I just love the WP experience way too much. Converted from android back when wp7 launched.

I am a field rep for a major cell phone manufacturer. I've been in the cell phone industry for almost 10 years and I've used every phone OS. I use windows phone because its nice, simple, clean and just works.

Sv: Poll: What's your profession?

I'm a Business Intelligence architect and Informatica developer. Also an Android user since 3 years but l'm looking for something new.
Never cared too much for IOS and the times I've tried it I just bores me to tears.
I'm waiting for my contract to run out so I can switch to WP. Almost certain that I will get a Lumia 920 when the time comes and is quite confident that the quirks that's present now will be sorted by then. :)

Telecommunications specialist at a timeshare resort managing the PBX switch, voicemail server, and call accounting software; as well as the resort phones. Analog, digital, and IP phones.

Also a fulltime student too lol, BS in Computer Information Tech. is what I'm going for.

I own and operate a Landscaping company and I am also an actor. I got in on WP7 when Sprint offered the Arrive. I had been using a Zune HD for a long time before that and knew the interface would be similar so it was a no-brainer. That, coupled with the fact that I didn't care for Apple and Android just always seemed like a non-apple version of iOS, and boring, again, a no-brainer.

As a landscaper, the ability to take photos in the field and email and text them to clients for decisions that can be made in real time easily is soooo nice as most clients live somewhere else most of the year. As an actor, it is an indispensable tool when I'm moving and working around in LA. The combination of my Surface and my Lumia 920, when I finally get it will be great.

Thanks

I'm a SQL developer who dropped Android for a Lumia 920. It's interesting how many here are in IT, but I guess that's the natural demographic for WPC.

Medical student. I have had my Samsung Focus for a year and a half now, asking for replacement. Nokia just refuses to sell me a Lumia 920

I'm a Software Engineer, was previously an iphone user, but got bored if it and transitioned to Android. Pretty much loved android with its widgets but eventually got bored of it and got the Lumia 920, which is really refreshing. Kinda like the when the Android first came out, its still lacking in a few places, but with time, it'll solve itself. Loving the experience right now tho! Previously owned a HTC One X, as for my tablet, I currently use the Nexus 7 when i travel, but plan to be a Surface Pro owner(or if i'm too impatient the Sony Vaio 11)

A 3D animation student, and aiming to work at video game industry.

Currently an N9 owner and going to switch to L920 next week. Glad i was waiting for WP8 and decided to skip WP7 :-)

Noob Structural Engineer. All the other engineers use their good ol' Blackberry's so they're easily impressed with the gigantic Lumia 920 screen size and the sweet pictures it takes. I hope Autodesk eventually develops some of its sweet mobile apps for Windows 8 RT and WP8.
