Poor camera performance?

I had my Pro 7 delivered today, to replace my old Surface Pro 4.
While I'm generally pleased, there is a noticeable downgrade in camera quality in the Pro 7.
It affects both still photos and video, on both front and rear cameras. The images look over smoothed, very little detail and the colour balance is really poor.

This is in artificial light and it may be better in daylight, but as most of the situations I use the camera on this type of device is inside, this is really disappointing.

Is anyone else noticing this?

Just to clarify - I'm not expecting phone-level quality from the cameras. The quality looks really rough and noticeably worse than the SP4, even on a Skype call.

Same here, I see people praising the webcam in reviews but in real life it's 400% worse than my Surface Pro 4
