Still waiting for a new mount for the TV this replaces. That TV is moving upstairs. But these TVs are too big/bulky for me to hang myself so I'm waiting for the other mount to get both TVs mounted in one session. The existing mount the new TV will go on is inset between two studs and can hold 200 lbs. (new TV weighs 100 lbs.) even extended almost 3 feet from the wall for extreme side angling. The new mount for the old TV holds 176 lbs (old 80" Visio TV weighs 113 lbs.) but only extends 20 some inches.
Was a toss up between this LG and a Sony but still pissed at Sony for secretly rooting PCs years ago, so....
This LG has a 7 year warranty but had to jump thru hoops to get it. Bought at Costco and needed to use their Citi card to get 2 of those 7 years. So I applied during checkout expecting instant approval. But no. Spent hours on the phone with Costco first after unable to get to a person at Citi. Eventually, Costco got to a person at Citi and put me on the call. I had an old fraud alert which prevented the automatic card authorization. They expedited the approval while I was on the phone. I won't ever use the card anywhere but Costco for the 2% cash back.
Update: won't even use it at Costco except for warranty extension. Turns out the cash back is payed annually with several ways to lose it. Will continue to take the 1.5% instant cash back on another card.
Next issue was delivery. Its central AZ. 120+ degrees the day before. I had received a vitamin shipment from Costco a week before and there was just one big blob in the bottle because everything melted together in the UPS truck. LG support chat said 120 degree limit for the TV and UPS trucks get 140+ in AZ summer. And the TV was going to be on the delivery truck all day (6:30 PM arrival). No contacts for the delivery service Costco uses for TVs so another two hours to get thru to Costco CS. They took over a half hour getting to a human at the delivery company. It took that person another half hour to confirm the truck was air conditioned. It wasn't. But I didn't burn myself on the box like some UPS deliveries so.... Plus, the owners manual says 140 degrees instead of 120 the LG CS claimed. Should be ok.
The new TV has WebOS for the "smart" stuff. I would probably prefer Roku but glad its not Apple, Amazon or Google Smart TV OSs. Will move the Roku device to this TV if I don't like what's built-in. The old TV has some home grown system from Visio which died on the vine and forced adding Amazon Fire 4K first and then upgrading to Roku.
This will be the first time in my life with more than one TV in the house. The old TV is going to a guest bedroom and also be a backup if the main TV is out of service for any reason.
Edit: picture of TV mounted on wall. For scale, light switch to left of TV is 4 feet from the floor. I'm 5' 11" and can barely touch the top of the screen.
