So been having a fun month of online shopping. Buckle up people.

Got these so that I could get up and stretch while on work calls all day. These are great but unfortunately don't work with Microsoft Teams.PXL_20200917_164635980.jpeg

Needed something less bulky for the daily evening walk. So go these on sale. Very nice sound for the price. Would be perfect if bass was about 10% higher.PXL_20200917_165600060.jpeg

Need a capture card to convert video from camera to computer for a live stream so got one of these. Only 1080p but Facebook downgrades everything to 720p anyways so no reason to spend $300 on a Magewell capture device.PXL_20200917_164809525.jpeg

I have those headphones and really like them. They sound great for the price. Fortunately, I don't use Microsoft Teams. They work fine with Zoom and Google Meet.

Test driving it today. The Outlook notification sound issue went away automagically, I took a couple of jobsite pics that actually didn't come out too shabby. I guess we're so used to oversaturated pictures from our premium smartphones that when something comes back as natural we think it's blah.

I'm very torn at this moment. On the one hand it's not the most user-friendly phone out there since you have to open it just to see who's calling and sometimes my hands are full. But on the other hand, I get tons of emails with attachments every day and that's when this rig shines. There's no two ways about it, the way the 2nd screen interacts with the apps is amazing. I used an LG V60 Dual Screen for a couple of weeks and it didn't come anywhere near as effective as the Duo. The 4:3 aspect ratio is the key to this, make no mistake.

I'm not sure this is a primary device to use telephony with, maybe a companion like the Palm from a couple of years ago to strictly handle phone calls? Too soon to decide whether to keep or send it back to Microsoft with a sign attached: Put a secondary display, even if it's just a sliver along the edge, to answer or reject calls without having to open it.
Have you made a decision whether to keep it or send it back yet? Has it gotten any updates that improve the experience?

Last century we bought an alarm clock that could play nature sounds while you went to sleep.

It always annoyed me that the clips were very short. So the ocean, for example, was just the same single wave over and over and over and over and over.

Never one to put anything off, I just bought a replacement for the sounds. 31 non-repeating sounds although I'm sure they repeat but after I can recognize it. Plus several are by definition repetitive, like a heart beat or a fan. Anyway. Its a big improvement even if my wife vetoed the train sounds I liked.

I can't figure out the case though. It looks and feels like wood and I've found dozens of pictures and every one had different graining. But I don't understand that if its not wood how they make the grain different between examples and understand even less why they would go to the trouble. Still, I can't believe it is actually wood considering it was even a dollar less than the same product in white plastic.
