I noticed the differences in the heavyweight vinyl and vintage vinyl. The Jethro Tull LP is 180g vinyl. The latest Greg Lake LP is vintage vinyl from 1983.

I had my tone arm height at 2mm but had to lower the tone arm height to .5mm to play the ca 1983 vinyl. The vintage vinyl sounds great. The record is just so much lighter and thinner.

I never got rid of my vinyl. I got a new turntable last month, so I'm also acquiring more LPs to add to my collection. 😊

While I loved vinyl, and still have my Genesis collection stored somewhere, it weighed a half a ton. Got tired of moving and storing it. Loved that old sound though and glad people are keeping it alive!

My laptop failed last week. Can't live without one. So here is my new ASUS ZenBook Flip UX360CA-UBM1T Signature Edition 2 in 1 PC--has a 4m intel cpu, 8gb ram and a (only) 250gb SSD (Yes!) Took a pic with my Lumia 650 with its new light wood mozo back cover. (Have to figure a way to get a pic of the phone:winktongue:)

I love vinyl too, but couldn't afford stuff during the student days. But my flatmate did, of course I didn't quite like the stuff he listened. I was into tapes then! But I did get a few records .. including Spilt Enz's True Colours. One of the first vinyl to have patterns laser-etched on the grooves. If you shine a light on it, it'll throw neat reflections on the wall.. viola, like a disco mirror ball!!..

...!!

I like Genesis with Peter Gabriel, but I'm not at all fond of Phil Collins.

I have some picture discs and clear vinyl. The only new clear vinyl is the one in my first post. The rest go back to purchases I made in the 80s.

Wow, I can't even think of the last time that I heard one of their songs!!!

I wish I kept my old vinyls: Meet the Beatles Sticky Fingers(the one with the zipper, I think), and The Doors.
Yes, I had them all once upon a time.....

I was always a huge fan of ELP and saw them in 1998.

You're right about "Sticky Fingers". The original album had a real zipper. I also like some of the Led Zeppelin album covers, like the wheel on "Led Zeppelin III" or the windows on "Physical Graffiti".

Cool! How do you like it? I've never tried their products.

I like it a lot. Skins are kind of hard to install but not impossible. I probably wouldn't bother if I didn't have an iPhone. I love how they look though.

And here's the dBrand skin on.
