I've gone completely minimalistic. 145 apps and links hidden in the tiles (folders that look like a four-square) to the right of the header with text.

Disadvantage: no more live tiles (at least not in the overview).

Advantage: I like it and will try it out if I still llke it in a couple of days. My full homescreen fits to the screen in one piece. And, no more boring icons...
