Problem with Whatsapp 216.240 on Lumia 640 DS Windows 10 14393.189

Since yesterday Whatsapp has a problem, since it updated, it takes for ever to open for the first time and when it is running in the background if you open it the app says resuming for a while and then crashes.

Anyone else have this problem and possibly found a solution. I uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing has changed.

Thanks, but I already did a reset. I have found the origin of the problem and it is again linked with dual SIM operation on the Lumia 640. I also have an ongoing problem with not being able to open Windows News app when operating double SIM. In view of that I removed the second SIM and Whatsapp started working normally. I just wish Msft would check how their double SIM phones work when they are actually using both SIMs! So I now have to carry a phone for each network again. I am not amused. Actually the symptoms are very similar for News and Whatsapp, with Double SIM operation selecting News from the start screen gets it to start opening and then it crashes, with Whatsapp it says resuming and then crashes.

you could try out the release preview build .221 and check whether that build fixes your trouble.

Thanks, I guess I will wait until that version is for general release. I have had dual-SIM problems through many releases without them ever changing anything so I can be patient until .221 becomes the general release version. Honestly I suspect that Microsoft never tests their software in phones operating with dual-SIMs. However the Whatsapp app only started having issues recently but as both Whatsapp and Windows have had updates...

The issue is here om Anniversary update as well! Lumia 730 here. Beta and non-beta both have the issue. However, even with 1 SIM inserted, I am seeing the resuming screen everytime I open it.

When it is supposed to be running in the background and I want to open it I just see Resuming and then after a wait I find myself back on the start screen. A second attempt says Loading and finally things work. Also when it is supposed to be running in the background and the phone is sleeping I almost never get any notifications from WhatsApp. Waking the phone usually brings a number of several hours old notifications. I'm fairly sure that it is only WhatsApp that does this, SMS messages always go through but I will check with other messaging apps like iO...

Not only whatsapp,facebook and messenger 2 days notification is problem. Today notification work ok. Ddos attack?

It was updated a long time ago, I always hope that a new version will solve these outstanding problems but it doesn't...

I also wondered about that, it might be the reason. Mine is working again in single SIM state but using both SIMS creates enormous problems and each time I install the second SIM I end up removing it again.
