Problems post 8.1 upgrade

Since updating I find each morning after charging that I can only turn the phone on with a soft reset. Then sometimes during the day it again shuts down and requires another soft reset. I have also noticed the battery is running down quickly. I have checked all settings to assure synch settings, etc remain the same. Any suggestions?

Back up and do a hard reset. It generally cleans up all the cobwebs
