Progressive Web App (PWA) list

Flipkart app for windows 10 is the best. The app itself is built upon React Framework but i dont know if that also counts as a pwa. Can someone just install it and see it for themselves? I think it is best application of web app. the website itself is very applike.

I definitely agree with that. The app is terribly unreactive half the time. Also I barely touch it and it starts to scroll onto other pages. The website better I think for normal pc's whilst the app is more suited to a touchscreen. Although I like the live tile and notifications on the app.

whoa, when did uber become seemingly so nice? Thought I needed my work iphone to uber properly, then re-discovered the uber app on my work laptop, checked on my hp elite x3... lol never letting it go!

I retract that, while I can plan a trip, I can't book. Get some server error. The price shown might not be in the right currency either as it was cheaper that the Uber app on iPhone.

I tried this in Calgary btw

Really? Can't say I've tried using the PWA for a trip yet, usually use my phone. There's a paid ubereats app in the windows store (uwp not pwa), just as an aside

I've started using PWA's intensively via the edge development version. I have to say, for many purposes it's as good, or even better than an app. Even if the website is not an actual PWA.

For social media, it's a perfect fit. I've still been using apps however for any form of messenging (messenger, skype, whatsapp), which thankfully have UWPs. At least, no one has designed a PWA messenger app yet that 'feels good'. FB's might be close.

And obviously anything heavyweight is better PWA/win32.

Anyway, I can see a real truth to this notion of PWA's replacing the need for most light apps, especially smartphone apps. Indeed, I could see a OS platform running mostly on PWA as a core app platform.

Had discussed with uber help, apparently after getting to next level of support, they said they had to allow my account to use m.uber.com (I did say that the desktop app and website had given me problems)

Successfully booked an uber in new jersey to airport on my desktop!
