Prompted by Hello iris recognition when waking phone

Hi all
Just got my new windows 10 phone, and so far really liking it. I use the Hello feature to login, however it still prompts to scan iris even if the phone is unlocked already and I'm just waking up the phone.
I can just bypass it by swiping up the screen, is this normal can it not be disabled when just waking the phone?

It's normal, and sadly no way to change the behavior.
