proof the Nokia/AT&T advertising push is working?

I saw a cyan 900 at a bike festival and an event at our fitness place, but that's it so far. People always want to play with mine when they see it though. They love the people centric focus and now easy it is to contact someone.

The only one I've seen beside mine is a Focus a cousin has. Hopefully that will change pretty soon.

This is why I slipped a cyan gel case over my black L900. Doing my part to help with the marketing plan. No inquiries yet, but have had a few doubletakes.

I've only seen one actual Windows Phone in the wild, unfortunately, a Focus S. I have hopes though. My oldest is starting high school next year and has my old Titan. He likes showing it off so hopefully he can win over a few.

I think the best thing Nokia ever did was release the phone in cyan. It's such a striking color that it's sure to get noticed.

I bought my 900 last night bat Sams Club 48.88 53 67 with tax. They have had them less than a week. I dont dont know how many the other kisok guys have sold but the guy who did the paperwork and calling ATT said it was his first sale. I got yo play with the store demo and both of the sales people said they were enjoying the 900 dfemo unit. That could be be big in a little while with that price.

I use to only see maybe one or two windows phones out in the wild if I was lucky... but lately I've been seeing alot of 'em ... mostly Lumia 900s. Just last saturday I was at my son's soccer game and I saw few 900s...

In Atlanta and Miami I have seen a number of Cyan 900. It really stands out. The crazy part is that Girls like to just grab my blue phone. Cyan is like a girl whisperer. lol ;)

People always ask me about my phone. The interesting part is that they always compare it to the iPhone isntead of the latest Android phone. My iPhone buddies really don't like my Lumia. :giggle: I honestly think they see it as the first real threat to the percerption that Apple has the coolest device on the market. Nokia should Roll out the Magenta Color attached to a breast Cancer awareness campaingn. Etch a Ribbon in the back of a limitted eddition magenta model bundled with the magenta in ear purity headphones and sell it for the first 30 days like they did for the dark night promotion while giving a portion of sales to the cancer foundation. That would really get a lot of buzz and get the ladies excited.

I live in a a small IL town which has only two major carriers: at&t and Verizon (of course). Verizon is the biggest one here, and of course that means all Android all the time. (I only know two people, both coworkers, who owns an iPhone.) But, among the AT&T crowd, I am seeing some 2nd Gen WP goodness. One of my duaghters buddies just got herself a Focus Flash (she LOVES it), another of her friends is still sporting a HTC Surround he got second hand. Once his contract is up, I have him sold on at least trying another WP. (he likes the OS, but dislikes his Surround. Small screen, he thinks it is also awkward to use). She also has another friend with the Original Focus.

My wife and I get questions all the time about her Titan (which she loves to show off) and my "S". People are truly interested.

And from above, it does seem to be the younger crowd who is willing to give WP a shot, don't it?

I have still not seen a WP7 device in the wild.

I've seen three, one Focus, one was not identified in time, one Quantum (yeah I was surprised too).

I used my HD7 to take a picture the other day, and my friend at work saw the Windows Phone logo on the back, and asked to take a look at my phone. The first thing he concluded was it's faster than his Google Android phone. I guess we all know that by now, but it's actually news for many people.

at a conference recently, which was an OS neutral IT converence, I saw a LOT of windows phones. It was quite astonishing. The thing about it is, it is non fanbois that seem to be picking these up. Independent thinkers who just want a phone that works for them.

Ditto on My 800 ;) And for sure it is being noticed

It wasn't too long ago when most tech pundits were predicting that WP was DOA.

Amazing what a little Nokia can do, isn't it?

I hope the push is working. Sadly, I have still not seen a WP7 device in the wild. Never.

Really? I've seen quite a few out there. Just recently I was at a small get together and spotted 3. Focus S, Focus Flash and Cyan Lumia 900.

Here's one that might blow you away a little, it's just to the left of "on topic".

Here in Canada there has been almost no support for WP. I live in a city of about 350,000 people.

I want a WP, and used my carrier's "Dollars" (like Air Miles) to pretty much cover the cost of an HTC One S. I had a **** of a battle with them as they wanted to force me into signing a 3 year data contract. Then another battle so I didn't have to wait a month to get a phone I own unlocked. The plan is the sell the 'droid and get the WP of my choice.

I put it up for sale on the local equivalent of Craigslist. While checking through the other ads, I came across two others doing pretty much the same thing as me. "Here's a brand new Android, I'm selling it to by a WP".

Yep, really. You'd think being in a major US city I'd see them every now and then. But I haven't, and on top of that all of the attendees of the STL WP7 Meetup have not seen any WP7 devices in the wild. Crazy! I know, because I ask them at every meetup.

Same here. Maybe it's because I don't leave the house often enough. :P

I ride public transportation to school every day, and I always see at least one on the bus. Which is kind of annoying. It used to be cool to have something different, but now everyone is getting them.

I've seen 2 in the wild. One with a father and son (dad had iphone, son had wp :P) and this one girl i saw had a focus. Haven't seen ANY lumias yet though, but everybody seems to know what they are.

Nokia has pretty much become the face of Windows Phone. Regular friends have asked whether my Omnia 7 is "the Lumia" (I use a GelaSkin which hides the Samsung logo).

Before, Windows Phone was ambiguous and described as "crap". Now, it's actually got some mindshare.
