As far as Cortana, I'd probably use her if it weren't for location. I guess I'm just an old-timer that feels "they" know too much about us already.
You two guys have forgot more than I'll ever know about these phones. I'm glad I didn't wipe it - have heard that's a pain. The reality probably is I don't need anything more than a flip phone and a BT earpiece. Don't do any gaming, not much traveling, mainly use phone for Binging and texting. I've worn various BT earpieces for years - my first one was a Jabra BT350. And now, I can't stand to hold a phone and talk on it. Or remove it from the holster to look at a text. The Icon is my first WP, coming from a Samsung Galaxy S4. Had the S3 but an update blew the BT function. VZ acknowledged the problem but couldn't give me a definite time for an update fix. Surprising? So I complained about it until they sent me an S4 for free. It worked....till the next update. Came to WP - it worked....until 8.1/Denim. I guess it all comes down to a matter of experimenting till the function you're missing is working again. So thru all this, I've learned that it's not the update, but my lack of patience that causes most of my problems!
