quick question about calanaders/contacts

Hi so I'm looking at my calander & contacts and I had a question, Is Live & Hotmail the same? Is there a point to having them both? It shows both of them when I want to save a number or add something to my calanader but I was so sure they merged or whatever happened....but maybe i'm wrong ?

go to settings > email+accounts ... it will show the accounts you have, if both are the same you can delete the second one.

If they are not the same then when you create a new contact or event, it is asking you which account you want it to save to

Okay so I have a Microsoft account, live, and google, live and Microsoft have the same email so do I delete one of those? Why does a hotmail option show up when I add a contact or an event to the calander

Yes, delete the live account, you don't need both. Then tap the Microsoft account and you'll see that at the top you can choose what name that account has, the reason it gives 'hotmail' as an option is because that is what it will say in the account name box. Change it to anything you like but I usually type my email address in the name box so that it is more obvious to you what the account is If you don't have google calendar and contacts synced then it now won't ask you to choose an account when adding a new contact or calendar event because there is only the Microsoft account now
