Quiet Hours (aka Do No Disturb) now on Windows Phone!

It is a standard windows phone toats. We have no control on time out of it. Swipe it or press back button to dismiss it

Hi!! is it possible add an option like "Exceptions"? so no calls or messages from certain important contacts are lost

One workaround may be to say in your voicemail message to ring an alternate (landline?) number to get hold of you if it is time critical. Of course, you don't include the number in the message but have already told your important contacts what it is (in your email sig or business card for example).

In the app at the bottom of the schedule screen tap the pin icon. The tile that is placed on the start screen will act as a toggle to switch between normal and silent modes.

Ahhhhh, thank you!!!!! This was changed after the latest update I do believe. Used to work that way, then all of a sudden, the Live Tile was taking me into the app.

@Ray Adams

I want to thank you for this app. I work swing-shift, so I use this pretty regularly. One suggestion. And I'm curious what the other users here think.

In the app, could you swap the "ends at" and "starts at" time boxes? When I want Quiet Hours enabled, I want it to "start" and then "end". It flows better when we're setting up our times. I don't ever think "Well I want the phone to go back to it's normal ring setting tomorrow around "X" time, but I want it to begin around "X" time. That just seems backwards.

Not a backward. Your day usually starts with silent mode off and end with silent mode on.

Is it possible for this to switch from normal mode to vibrate instead of silent? I'd like to set to vibrate before work, and return to normal after work.

No, actually my day starts with silent mode "on", as I have turned it on before I went to bed. Once my day starts, I want the silent mode to end so that my ringer is back to normal.

That is what I meant. Start of the day (not 0.00, but for example 9.00 am) is when your silent should be off and at the end of the end, turned on. That is exactly how you set up settings in Quiet Hours

Hi,
Is there any way for the app to interact with the calendar on the phone so it turns silent during meetings and turns back to normal once the meeting has finished in the calendar?

It could work as most of my work meetings are at least 30mins or longer and end on the half hour or hour. If it could as an option sync with one particular calendar and turn silent when a meeting is flagged as busy. But if you can't you've still mad an awesome app.

I'm wondering if others experience the same issue with voicemail as I do...Ray has been kind enought to respond to my emails, but I'm not sure he understands why I'm complaining.

I toggle quiet hours on during the day quite a bit so my phone doesn't make noise during meetings. If someone calls, the phone vibrates, I answer and everything is fine. If I don't answer and the caller leaves a voicemail, there is no way for me to hear the voicemail, either through the earpiece or the speaker, unless I manually toggle back to normal mode.

I don't understand why I can hear a phone call in silent mode, but not a voice mail.

I've answered you by email

But will post it here too.
We do not have yest API to turn silent mode, only to set volume level. It is not the same as when you turn vibrate only by tapping in icon in volume bar

Yes you did...my question should probably be then, "did WP really make it so the voicemail volume is NOT connected to call volume?"

It is still considered part of the "phone" function. Why is a phone call (or listening to/answering one) unaffected by turning the volume all the way down, but listening to a voicemail is?

Just trying to verify that it is a WP issue and not a Quiet Hours one as it seems so ridiculous that those two functions act separately. I'm assuming/hoping it is corrected in the 8.1 version.

Love the toggle feature...love the app...use it ten times a day.

Thanks!

Because smart forum administration decided to move this thread in this forum, which is not so popular, can someone open thread about this app in old forum so we can discuss it there? :)
As I understand if someone made or works for the company who made app, opened thread, it will be moved here. But if thread started by other people it will be there.
Splitting forums like that is just confusing people.

where exactly do you want us to start the new thread? Under Windows Phone 8?
