rdubmu

I have learnt to ignore him. Either he is some social media guru I'm failing to see or he has something personal with me. But, every time I close a thread, I genuinely hope he reports me and says something useful that will make me re-think before deciding to close a negative thread. However, since he hasn't really improved his reports, I am not going to pay heed to him. The screen locking thread was contributed to by a member of forum and I had nothing to add. That same OP created a thread 2 mins after I closed the thread telling how he has a solution to that screen problem - which I have deleted without any interaction as he clearly knows what he is doing. If he PMs me saying "hey Hitler stop that" - I will deal with it with a details essay type explanation and link to all 14 threads where is issue is discussed in length.

When he did it to me, I also thought it was personal. Then after the first one to rock, I thought maybe he had an issue with new mods. But I did a search on his reported posts and saw he's done it to Eric as well. He just has an issue with some closings and deletings. Don't let it get to you.

Nah, I'm just developing a thick skin because of him. He is doing a good job by at least letting us know he is an active member! ;)

He is out of the Ambassadors group but that's all I can do about this. Reporting a post isn't against the forum rules. Just ignore his reported posts from now on. Maybe next time he really needs help with something he wont get it.

I would disagree there.

He considered the closing and explanation a problematic post. It's all about the interpretation. Not to say he was right, just his point of view. If we all had the same, it would get boring.

I've abused that report button more than rdubmu! It's probably because that's one of the easiest way other than direct message to report something. Plus, when you write a message, you need to link etc. This one just does the link and you add what issue you have. Considering we don't encourage openly talking about issues in threads, this probably was the only way he could have reached out.

You didn't abuse the report button the same way rdubmu did. I saw all of your reports. You would say, "...I think this should go here...or...Shouldn't this be in xxx...". You never said stop closing thread you forum Nazis.

Of all the reports I saw of yours, you abused it for good, which means you didn't abuse it at all. You reported only problematic threads that needed mod attention. A mod had already dealt with that thread, no further reports were needed.

He is looking to apologize to you all. We have been talking via PM here is what happened.

Yes it is something that I would love to do. Unfortunately I do not get private messages notification on board express messages. I understand hurt feelings, and I do apologize. I think what I meant by forum Nazi did not come out correctly, I choose the wrong words. If you choose to keep me out of the ambassador program, I understand completely. If you could please send this to those moderators that I offended that would be great as I have no idea who is a moderator and who isn't. Most of them I don't see a title. This will not happen again. I should have had my post say the following "I think the best thing would be to merge threads with a redirect instead of just closing the thread"

BTW: I did not know I had a notification because I normally check the forum with board express, that is the reason for my late response. I know you had a read receipt on this and could have checked to see if I read it or not. Once again I do apologize, it won't happen again and I should have known better when I reported the post.

I want to talk to you about this post.

That and the reported post you offered today. You do realize it is the moderators that get the reported posts? Why would you call them " forum Nazi's" you really have them upset. I don't blame them I am disappointed as well. These people are just doing their jobs they don't deserved to be attacked for doing what is necessary. Especially by someone who is a member of the Ambassadors team. You should really know better. I am going to have to insist that if you want to remain on the Ambassadors team you need to apologize to the moderators. Is that something you would be willing to do?

Thoughts?

He can just apologize by reporting a post. Hopefully its a change towards the better, not sure to let him back into the ambassadors group yet tho.

This guy really wants to be an Ambassador again. We have exchanged PMs monthly about this. He sent me this today.

Dear Moderators and Administrators and all others,

A few months ago I was using the report to moderator button to let you know about my displeasure about closing threads. I definitely had bad judgment and I used some terms that should never be repeated at WPCentral because all of you do a great job on this website. I understand that many of you are volunteering your time to make this website a better place. I really appreciate all you do for this site and forum. Dave first reached out to me after I had made the comment. He did take away my Ambassador title as I didn't act the way a Ambassador should act like. I fully agree with Dave's Decision. Dave also let me know to this day some of you are still upset with my comment. I wanted to clear the air. That comment isn't something that should represent me even thou I know it may follow me. It isn't something I believe in even thou I said it. Some might ask "why did you type that?", I really do not know why I acted so stupidly, nor was I thinking at the time about other people's feelings. I feel really bad looking bad about what I said. I made a bad judgment call as well as a bad decision. I know that many people hide behind their keyboards but I do not ever want to hide behind a keyboard. I am fortunate that none of you have kicked me off this website or banned me. I believe that I have been a better "citizen" on this website since Dave first approached me. I have been trying to be helpful as well as supportive of the other members of this website. Once again, I hope you all can forgive me for my actions. I did make a mistake and I have learned from it, this doesn't make it right nor does this make everything perfect again, but I hope with this apology plus my future actions you all can forgive me with time. I know that Dave will not let me back into the Ambassador program and I understand the consequences. Once again, I hope you all can give my actions and this will not happen again. I will see you guys in the forum and lets work on improving Window's Phone marketshare! :)
Sincerely,
Bobby Mutton

I haven't had any issues with him recently. My latest interaction was when I moved a thread he started from the WP8 forum to the Mac OS X forum (since he asked about moving pictures from device to Mac computer). He thanked me in the reply to the PM I sent where I told him I thought he'd get better help in Mac OS X forum, since the Mac users tend to look at that forum, but the people in the WP8 forum mostly use PCs and aren't familiar with Macs.
