I recently sold my dad's Lumia 900 for 1320. It looks like a perfect phone at that price. But there is something that has shocked me. There is no light in capacitive buttons. Its not something serious. But my dad is 50+ and he needs those lights in order to use it in darkness.

How can nokia ignore such thing. At least they could have implemented such an important feature. Its almost impossible to use a capacitive button even under low lights. Is it something totally hardware based. Is that a flaw that nokia can overcome with an upcoming firmware release?

Even the 520 does not have them.
Nokia has gotta cut down something to keep the price low!

I think the 1320 does have lighting on the capacitive buttons, just disable battery saver and auto brightness....

Dude, it's not hard to approximate the positions of the buttons in total darkness!

Even I seriously miss this feature in the Lumia 1320.

1320 doesn't have light emitting capacitive buttons. This has been confirmed earlier.

It's a measure to cut cost as printing buttons as opposed to cutting through the panel, adding lights, etc add cost to what is supposed to be a lower cost device.

It cannot be changed, only way is to change to a different model that does have light.

It shouldnt be hard to know the order of back, start, and search, but if it is, the best choice is to become familiar and adapt.
I've used my 920 with battery saver on before, and the lack of lights wasnt bad at all, but thats just me, i'm young and live with this.
But i would prefer it if I had the choice.

This is strange. Lumia 1320 has the same battery as 1520. 1320 uses a dual core and less resolution screen and yet its battery life is less than 1520. I was expecting its battery to last more than 1520. Can someone suggest me a good reliable memory card for this device?

1320 lasts longer on a single charge compared to 1520 for precisely the reasons you mentioned above. What makes you think otherwise?

The battery life is still decent. I charge my Lumia 1320 once in 3 days if I don't use it heavily. With regards to memory card, I have a 16GB SanDisk memory card. Its good and reliable.

In SanDisk cards there are categories, which depicts its quality. Can you define those categories?

The Nokia Lumia 1320 got the same time as the Lumia 1020 ? 22 hours and 13 minutes. That?s more than 6 hours behind the Lumia 1520 and keeping in mind that the screen is turned off when speakingyou can clearly see the drawbacks of the old radio and chipset architectures

That is the point. When 1320 has the same battery size as 1520, but a dual core processor instead of quad with low clock speed and low screen resolution. So the power consumption should be less compared to 1520. So why does the batter last less, compared to 1520? Technically it should last more.

There is another issue with my dad's 1320. I was able to transfer all the contacts which were synchronized with Microsoft Account. But these contacts lost the thumbnails. Even when I send some business cards which was containing thumbnail images, using WhatsApp. After saving those contacts, it lost the thumbnails.

Can someone tell me a solution? Is this a bug?

With very intermittent usage (like 2 hours of web browsing/texting a day), my Lumia 1320 has been on since Saturday afternoon (it's Wednesday afternoon now, 4 full days). And I still have 21% battery remaining. How's that?

But what could be the reason for the thumbnails not working with the contacts?

Will a 64GB Grade 10, MicroSD card work fine with Lumia 1320, without slowing the overall performance of the device?
