Removed SD card now not showing in phone

Removed the Micro SD card from my phone... putting it back in and turning it back on, even soft resetting doesn't recognise it any more
The phone continues to think no SD card exists, not even a format option.

OK I didn't use the "remove SD card" button in storage BUT I wouldn't expect this to happen.

Any one experienced and know a fix? I have some items on the card I'd like to keep. The PC can't read it either and only formatting is an option from there!

SD cards need to be terminated when they are removed from a phone or anything else for that matter. When you use the remove SD card icon that is what it does. Reformating is the only way I know you can get it to be seen by the phone as it will then think its a new SD card being installed. Maybe some Guru knows a way to by pass the termination; but I don't think so.

yep! stupid thing doesn't see it at all. gotta take it back to the store, so no I cannot format it, I cannot do anything, and no the pin is not bent
