I upgraded to 10 from 8.1 back in July. Having a few issues with 10.

I have a copy of 7 laying around (which is registered to this PC, and which was not used to get 10.) My question is can I go to 7 (formatting) then re-format and install 10 in a year or so once they have sorted out a few issues without loosing my 7, or having to pay for 10?

As I understand the process, your PC is now registered with Win10. So as long as you don't make any significant system changes (motherboard?) you should be able to reinstall whenever you want.
