i have tried hard reset in my lumia 720n because of hang.can you plz tell me how much time does it takes?

i did reset my lumia 720 to restore factory setting with the direction, and since the over 7-8 hours the spinning gear wheel has been on the screen, why this and what could be done about it,......

Try a hard reset via the buttons.

Hard Reset using buttons:

Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.
