Sad face after update

My Lumia 521 shows sad face after an unsucceful update. Apparently, there were not enough memory. I tried to master reset it but it did not work either. The phone is unresponsive and acting as a brick. The phone was 1 month old only. What can I do now? Where can I find a firmware to fix it?

I'm sorry to hear that your 521 bricked.

Since it's only a month old, I'd recommend contacting T-Mobile for warranty repair or replacement.

You can try Nokia Software Update for Retail and reflash the rom.

If the phone is not detected then you could try Nokia Care Suite here is guide to using it

if neither work then you need to contact T-Mobile or Nokia

My first 521 bricked during update. The second one was smooth.

Do you have a SIM installed and activated? Someone on the net mentioned that as a common cause for update failure.

No Amber Update or GDR2 yet for 521, current firmware is 1030.6409.1316.0016 ( I check almost every day for it)

Worked for me, it took about 30 minutes and when reset it was the new Windows 8.1 installed
