Samsung ativ s has a FM radio ????

-when ik goto diag screen *#9999#
-then goto main menu : *#0

when i scroll arround i see this ( see picture)
and when i plugin a earphone i hear FM noise ....mmmm thats strange ?!?!

is it possible to use it ???

All of our devices are capable of FM radio. It's WP8 that has it disabled I believe.

Gdr2 reenables the fm radio for the compatible phones. You can find it in Xbox music of you have an headset plugged in.

It was supposed to be enabled with GDR2 but on the ATIV S it's still disabled, that makes this extremely interesting as without the FM Radio hardware the Test Menu wouldn't have it listed.

What model is this i8750 or t889m? The pic below is the reason why is ask. I have been reading alot on this forum that the ativ s doesn't have the chipset suitable for fm radio, maybe this can clear the air.

Another website with false info. It claims the SGH-T899M has a QSD8650 processor. QSD8650 is a scorpion processor. Single-core and maxes out at 1GHz. These processors were on the first gen WP7 devices like the LG Optimus 7! The first retail WP7 device! We just need to wait for official info from SAMSUNG not some other site

The T899M uses a different SOC as it's LTE capable, whether it uses the QSD8650 I don't know but you're right, we need to hear from Samsung instead of speculating ;-)

In German magazines they say that Samsung only shipped branded, locked WP8 devices with FM radio. All the regular i8750 will not get FM radio... Might be a business decision. As to the T899, it might have the hardware.

I know that, but from that post, many people even in my pm keep asking if its true that it uses a QSD8650 and I got fed up. I was just stating that it was false and linking them to this post. Sorry if it offended you. But yes. It does not use a QSD8650. People believe anything here and use it against the ATIV S on other devices. The rumor about the ATIV S not having FM radio was already proven false on xda-developers but yet, in a thread where someone asked Lumia 820 or ATIV S, people kept saying "820. ATIV S doesn't have FM radio" or "ATIV S doesn't have FM radio. Don't get the ATIV S. Get the 820" (just a few examples).

EDIT: I found a YouTube comment on recombu's ATIV S vs L920 video about the QSD8650 on the ATIV S.
