What I find perplexing about the wailing and gnashing of teeth on wpcentral regarding the at&t variant of the Nokia Lumia 1520 is when you look at an Andriod phone which has sold TENS OF MILLIONS world wide it has similar or BETTER specs. People are acting like EVERY flagship phone only comes in 32+ GB versions with built in Qi charging. I left the Windows Phone bubble for about 10 painful seconds to see what was going on in the rest of the mobile world. You know what I found? Samsung Galaxy s4 being sold with no wireless charging and only a black 32 GB option! Every other color was 16 GB. OMG!!!

Yes, yes I know in other parts of the world there is a 1520 with 32 GB of storage and Qi charging but can you get it for $125? Or better yet $53 for Premier customers? No? Then?

Seriously, quit whining and buy the d@mn phone.

I think the gripe is aimed at AT&T, not at Nokia. The disappoint comes when considering the phone was initially designed very well, but gimped by the carrier for their redirected profit. Also, if you have disappointment in a product or service, then complain. People have right and reason for expressing disappointment. If the carrier or manufacturer find consumer response was poor because "no QI, inadequate storage, sun spots", then guess what they will introduce in the next variant?

It can be annoying for people to complain about a specification or feature that was know to be missing. However, all the arguments, expressions, complaints and user responses add up to data that is researched by the companies pumping out our electronic toys.

I hope your posted expression of disappointment in others made you feel a little better. I doubt anyone asked for your discourse on why they should cease with complaints and whining. However, many people will read it without a lengthy comment on your epiphanies and dissatisfaction regarding the community. I am sure they will also withhold any acknowledgments of hypocrisy or the poorly defined "irony" of your post.

In conclusion, I am happy your were able to freely express yourself on a forum. It appears the internet still works.

You seem to be the only one consistently shilling for AT&T and telling everyone to shut up, quit whining and "buy the damn phone". What's your agenda?

I bought the phone. Here is the issue people have though. AT&T neutered the phone, not Nokia. AT&T took the options away. No 32GB, no Yellow color and no Qi wireless charging. Why did they do this? Same reason they blocked Google Wallet from working on their phones... pushing their own friggin agenda. AT&T is backing the PMA wireless charging standard (that quite frankly is DOA, much like Isis Wallet). Why the 16GB only at launch though? Probably it was cheaper to subsidize? Blocking the yellow color though? Who knows.
Point is, AT&T is limiting the customers choices. In some cases to push their own crap on the consumer and in other cases it is likely related to money.

BTW, I have an HTC One, Galaxy S3, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Lumia 520 and a Lumia 1520. I like choices. People have the right to complain if the carrier takes options away, especially when the rest of the world is enjoying a 32GB, yellow 1520 with Qi charging!

Love the phones but ATT is its customers own worst enemy. I was with ATT through the pager years, several name changes and last fall I finally left them and couldn't be happier. Its almost like they want the WP to fail by neutering the best WP has to offer.

See this is the problem. You offer no proof for this statement. at&t has asked ALL manufactures to deliver PMA supported devices. I am not aware of at&t making any kind of profit from PMA sales.

Also, if you have disappointment in a product or service, then complain. People have right and reason for expressing disappointment.

There is "complaining" and there is having a nuclear irrational breakdown. I mean people saying they aren't going to buy the phone? Well what phone are you going to buy? An iphone 5s? A Samsung Galaxy s4? None of those have the feature you are wailing about. Or you're going to go pay full price for the international version and have sub par LTE support and still pay money on your contract? Really? Over wireless charging?

And I loved all the threads started where people were going crazy because the 32 GB version wasn't out. Well within weeks of launch the 32 GB version appeared. And as I predicted there were not an equal number threads filled with happy people. Nope there was a smattering of positive posts. What I did see was a bunch of people with a new complaint... not buying it, it has a nano SIM card! Seriously? Now they are upset because it has a nano SIM card?

Expressing disappointment is one thing. What went on on this website went far beyond that. I was disappointed with the fact no type of wireless charging was built in. But I was well aware nobody on the planet was getting a phone of this caliber with built in wireless charging for $124 on contract, so I tempered my remarks.

Having a rational conversation is now "shilling"? People are asking for something that does not exist. No where on the planet are people on contract buying 32 GB Qi enabled flagship phones for $124 on contract. Sure 32 GB qi enabled phones exist but they cost more than what we are paying at at&t. I don't mind hearing people's opinions and their side of the story but please be factual. Multiple people have posted they got the 32 GB 1520 for $53 through at&t premier! Is there any other company on the planet offering that deal? I have numerous problems with at&t but I'm not going to just start making stuff up about them.

All carriers are a-hole companies out to make money. Find the one that works, with a device that works and move forward. It's more fun to ***** and moan i guess.

People on contract are paying for AT&T's overpriced plans so they end up paying for it regardless. And yes you have been shilling for AT&T in a lot of your posts and have been called out on it.

actually if you have a shared plan and are using a smart phone that is not under contract (either 2 years old or bought outright) they take 15$ a month off your bill, this removing the subsidy amount.

No, they aren't. They are acting like AT&T made its replacement flagship Windows Phone regress from the previous flagship in two areas. There's nothing more to the sentiment here than that. (Also, we shouldn't take solace in simply matching the Galaxy S4 configuration when the available alternative was surpassing it.)

You keep stoking this "anger at AT&T" fire in multiple threads, looking for imaginary embers of irrational irritation. The problem is that you keep finding actual embers of rational irritation. Nokia designed an unquestionably superior flagship handset for Windows Phone. AT&T had them lower the flag to half staff.

I'm not whining and I did buy the d@mn phone, just not from AT&T.
