Occasionally I notice a dot with a circle around it just to the left of the battery indicator. It only seems to appear ay times when turning the phone on. Anyone have any idea what this indicates?

I think it's related to location services. I see it in the live tile for Amazing Weather and also in Nokia Maps.

I believe it is the GPS location services icon.
