Screen timing out too fast even when phone is not idle

Hi. I have a Lumia 920 and I have updated to Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview

Since the update I have been experiencing a weird issue. When I am using whatsapp or surfing the web on IE, the screen simply times out and displays the glance screen even though the phone is not idle. Is this is just happening to me or has anyone else experienced this issue

My screen time-out is set at 1 minute.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

The time out period starts when your finger last leaves the screen. Are you saying that the screen goes dark while you're actively poking the screen with your finger?

Yep. While I am actively using whatsapp or any app, the screen dims first in 3-4 seconds and then goes into idle mood in about 10 seconds.

I'd suggest performing a hard reset and seeing if that resolves the issue.
