Is anyone having problems with their SD card and music being read properly? My problem is that if I sort by songs, the phone can find all the songs but it only lists artists up to P. I'll post pics soon. I have reformatted the SD card multiple times and they all seem to work for about 2 days then revert to this issue. I have also reset the phone two times.

Here is the photo on the list of artists. Notice it ends at P.

Now see the top song is one by TI. What confuses me more is that the phone knows that that song is by TI. Any tips would be great!

I'm currently using a 64GB Sandisk Ultra with about 5GB of music and I have not incurred any problems.
My best guess though would lean towards an issue with the phone and not the card. You can always try the good ole hard reset and see if that clears up any issues.

I have reset the phone and reformatted the SD card. Should I just go and get a new one from ATT?

SanDisk SDSDQUA-064G-U46A Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s

Here's also the Amazon link.

I use that exact same card. I have about 13 GB of music and have zero issues so far. Not sure, but I would guess it's either a defective card or something wonky with the phone. Can you record/playback high def video fine? If not, then I would guess the card.

As in record video with the phone and store on SD card? What also leans me towards the phone is that every file is read on my computer fine.

Yes, recording video on your phone and playing it back (assuming you have it set to save on the SD Card).

As a quick test, you can change the settings on your phone to store your music on phone, instead of the SD card. Store as many as you can fit on your device, and choose artist names from most letters of the alphabet. If you can browse all your music and have no issues, it's most likely the card. If you still see the same issue, then it's probably the phone.

I just tested the video and the video is really good but the audio chops every 15 secs. What does that mean?

Sorry to hear about your plight.

1st Are they missing songs WMA or MP3 Format?

2nd I believe by default the New Windows 8.1 Music Player installs "Cloud synced " songs to your phone. Are you using this new Phone Application, Zune or simply transferring via the File Explorer?

They are all MP3 and all are synced through Windows Media Player

That is usually a sign that the SD card is not fast enough to be used in a SmartPhone (but works fine for digital cameras), but since I'm (and am sure many others) are using this without issue, I would venture to guess you may have a defective SD card. ScanDisk maybe able to warranty it. Or by chance, do you have another SD card? Also, did you trying running your music off the phone instead of the SD card to see if you have the same issue?

Sorry to bring this back up my SD card is now doubling each song. I checked in Windows Explorer and WMP and both said there isn't double. Anyone have ideas?

It's because you have cloud collection turned on. Disable it and you shouldn't have issues.

I had some double picture problems just last week.

It was weird. I have a Ativ S thats been running for about 8 months without hard reset etc. One morning I synced my pictures using the desktop app on W8.1 like Ive done many times. Doubles started to appear on my pictures hub. These were ghost doubles, on the card there was only one picture. If deleted either of those the whole picture was gone. I formated the card on the phone, no help. After format when I took a test picture on the camera, 2 pictures appeared and same to all other pictures I moved to the card. Card is 32gb SanDisk Ultra card (genuine). Ok I thought maybe the card is gone. I have extra Samsung 32gb class 10 card that served me really well on my HTC 7 Pro, so I put that in and same problem still. I tried to format both cards many times and whatnot but no help. At the end I formated the SanDisk in my PC and after I put it back on the phone, took a test picture and only one picture appeared. Then I moved my pictures back to the device, deleted the desktop app, downloaded the modern app for W8.1 and used that to sync all pictures freshly to my pc.

Everything has been running perfect since then. I dont sync my pictures to the cloud. I dont also sync music, those I only drag n drop to the card.

My sd card is all screwed up also. it has doubles of every song and wont play any files over10 mb in size. what the hell is up with that?
