Wondering if anyone else has had this issue, my capacitive search/cortana button stopped working.

Wondering if anyone's had a similar issue or a fix? I'm thinking I'll have to send it in for a replacement.

It was acting up every now and then, when I felt I had to stop and slide my finger across it, but just thought it was a positioning thing. Now it's totally gone.

Also, anyone know how to check the end of your warranty date? It seems all you can check is in and out, but not when it ends, gotta go by some relative date I think.

Anyway, any help is welcome.

Always try a factory reset first to rule out any software related issues. Use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool if you see the need to.

If the above doesn't work, only then we can be sure that it's a hardware problem. Perhaps that's the time to send in for a repair job.

Try calling the nearest Nokia Care center and tell them your IMEI number. They will know when your warranty expires. The IMEI number is shown in Settings > About > More Info.

If you don't have the number of a Nokia Care center, try finding it on Microsoft's website or contact the retail store from which you bought your phone.

Are you using a screen protector? This was the issue for me. I ended up cutting out the entire bottom rectangle, right where the screen ends, so the protector wouldn't be over the capacitive buttons. Never had a problem again!

CHeck out the "Sticky:Lumia 830 Bugs and Defects" discussion - probably almost half the entries are about this issue.

What country did buy it in Warranty is not universal it's where it came from (not where it was manufactured necessarily) and first sold.
