Which, unfortunately, is where I do most of my modding. I'll still try to pop in as much as possible. MS says it will probably take about a week and a half.

Everything!

Volume button is loose
Drivers won't update
Constant display crashes when playing videos

Sorry to hear you got a lemon Surface. Hopefully everything will work properly after it's repaired.

My original Surface RT is still going strong. I had talked my wife into letting me get her one of those refurbished ones for $179. Unfortunately, by the time we had talked about it and went to get it, they were sold out. Even more unfortunate, I was showing her what all she could do with mine to get her to agree. Now she wants me to share it until we get one for her. Doh!

Well that... Sucks! Actually that's kind of surprising to hear. Daniel let me try out his Surface last year for a little bit... that thing was rock solid. Was impressed.

Hope all is well (and fixed) soon.

Same story over here. By the time I went to pull the trigger... all gone.

You snooze you lose!

Sorry to hear about the surface I hope you back up and running soon. My surface Pro is rock solid. I have even dropped it a couple of times without breaking anything.

I want a DV8P. I got my daughter one for Christmas they are nice. I seen one on Craig's list the other day for $160. It was gone before I could get the deal worked out with the guy.

I don't think I realized how much I relied on my Surface until I got rid of it. Three days in and I'm having withdrawal systems. Tried pulling out my HP TouchPad to fill the void but it's not even remotely close. It's weird being forced to sit at my desktop now that I've gotten used to taking my computer to the places where I feel the most comfortable. No wonder the PC market is dwindling. Form factor dictating convenience is a pain in the tush.

Okay I did it I got me a DV8P. I convinced my boss we could set them up and use them for work. He wants to see what I can do with a $250 tablet.

Keep us posted... and if your boss likes what you can do with it, maybe they can send the rest of us one too??? :P

Got my Surface 2 back today, just in time for the new firmware. Everything seems to be working great.

Thought I'd just piggy back on this thread instead of starting a new one. Especially since I copied Cori and got a Surface 2 and gave the old Surface to the wife. But after missing the $179 refurbished deal, the damage was done and another one needed to be bought. Have to give credit to my wife. She said I know Surface 2 has been out for a while and you haven't said a thing. So why don't you get it and I'll use yours. Trying not to jump and do a air fist pump, I said ok, if you think so. I had no problems with my Surface and loved it. But the improvements to the Surface 2 are pretty darn good. Couldn't be happier. Setup asked me if I wanted the same as my other Surface so just clicked that and sat back and watched it duplicate what I had on the first one. Plus got 200GB of OneDrive for 2 years for free. And another 20GB for a year doing the enthusiast bonus at the store.
