Setting MP3s as ring tones...?

I just got the HTC TP2 with Verizon. For some God awful reason, Verizon will not allow me to download ring tones from their store onto my phone. I had the same issue with my Palm Centro. I saw a Youtube video that showed me how to convert music from my iTunes into a small mp3 file and send it to my phone as a ringer. Well I have downloaded the message and the file shows in Media Player but I cannot figure out how or if I can make it a ring tone. The ring tones that are included are not my style at all.

Any ideas?

Nevermind, I figured it out. I had to save the file as a .mid before I sent it to my phone. It allowed me to save the ringer to specific contacts and now it shows in my list of ring tones. If anyone needs help, I can certainly walk you through the steps.

You can save any mp3 to the "My Ringtones" folder in file explorer and they'll show up in the list of available ringers. I had to have my Casio EP-10 ringtone or my phone just wouldn't feel complete.

You do not have to have them as .mid files, simply make a "My Ringtones" folder on your SD card and load it up with 30 second MP3 clips. Reboot and you will see them added to the sounds folder - no system memory needed...

I have found that 64kbps files at 64hz play back very well for ringers... And are small enough not to take up too much system space - also, you can email them via MMS to any Verizon users too!
