dont mind the dumb quotes. i was testing out this app that uses live tiles as fillers. And I still use the windows central app despite it not having comment sections in the news anymore.

Haven't altered my layout in months, just occasional wallpaper change.
So it a nice personalised chaos!!
I dont use half of the apps on the start screen either. Guess I have to wait til my next hard reset

Had to move on over to Android because Verizon doesn't have too many Windows phones. My Lumia Icon was getting a bit long in the tooth. So, I'm on Android with SquareHome2 as my launcher. Trying to replicate the UI as much as possible. Phone is a Galaxy Note 8 with SH2 as the launcher. Not too bad in my opinion... The notifications do show up on the tiles - but it still isn't as snappy as Windows was... :-(

This is a pretty good alternative because you can load widgets into the tiles - so it makes it very flexible and interactive.

I tried SH2, but I found Launcher 10 way better. But it's just not it! Quit all of that and using Nova launcher. Miss live tiles but I don't want that copies.

Kinda stucked with android too. I don't even bother fixing my homescreen because its too boring. Same old square app icons with huge gaps in between. I had some free time today so I downloaded Square Home 2 and added a long shadow effect to the icons in Photoshop. It looks amazing on the S8+.

Those shadow effects are brilliant. Going to have to play around with my icons now. Thanks for the idea.

This makes me miss my Lumia.

same here buddy. had my last lumia 730 in 2015 but made a switch to android . but i still love the experience on a windows phone. i currently use the pixel 2 xl and to be honest my preference of pure android came from my experience on windows phone . just pure os and i made a right choice.
