re: [Showing Off] My Lumia 640 Start & Lock Screens
I've realized that those smaller Tiles are pain when I try to use my phone without my glasses (which I usually don't wear because I'm lazy as f#ck to clean them) so I'm back to bigger ones...
re: [Showing Off] My Lumia 640 Start & Lock Screens
here is mine, using 3rd party app to make text and tile separated, tweak to add 2 more small transparent tile in left and right, lower DPI for text to fit in tiles, tiles transparency is 100
re: [Showing Off] My Lumia 640 Start & Lock Screens
Set display text size to 175% (default is 200%) apply & reboot. Also turn on "more tiles" on start screen (even if it is already on it will be swithed off once you re-size text size) and you can fit an extra tile on each row. Also you'll now have 5 tiles in quick action center.
While this isn't anything new, it's new to me; I just realized I could do this and I bet a lot of other people don't realize they can do it either. Makes my 640 feel like my 1520. Pretty cool.
re: [Showing Off] My Lumia 640 Start & Lock Screens
I never thought I was a fan of the light background, but I'm actually kinda enjoying it. Plus, it makes my one stuck red pixel invisible until I go into an app with a dark background. My lock screen is the same as the background photo.
re: [Showing Off] My Lumia 640 Start & Lock Screens
My phone's fairly new, so I'm still tweaking things a bit, but this is how it looks like as of now. The start screen is two screen tall - the upper one is transparent and the lower part is opaque. Also most of the tiles are live.
re: [Showing Off] My Lumia 640 Start & Lock Screens
I like the look of the minimalist screens you can get on W10M, but I can't give up all my Live Tile info. I simply can't.
I've split the difference here and gone with some asymmetry. Also in anticipation of my Orange battery cover coming in, I've gone with the Orange theme and a nice wallpaper Cortana found for me.
Some of you who know me may already know that I prefer to only use my own photos that I've taken with the phone for use on my lockscreen and start screen.
However, I don't do the normal, "Look, I took my own picture!" type of thing. Most people think I've got a background I downloaded somewhere, and when I tell them, "No, I took that with my phone" they seem surprised.
Here's my lockscreen currently, which I took the picture outside this afternoon with my 640. A few rocks/gravel in a puddle on a dirt road where I live. I drive over this several times per day, and today I got out and snapped a few pics of different things to see if I could bring the "ordinary and mundane" up a notch. I thought it turned out rather nice.
I never realized the colors in the rocks contrasted so nicely until I got up close to look.
