For the last month or so, Windows Central has been unusable on Edge on my Surface 3. The website takes forever to load and then when it does, it freezes every 20 seconds. I get the blue loading circle on my mouse pointer. Earlier today, the site froze my entire computer and I had to do a hard reset (hold down power and volume buttons).
Is anyone else having these issues?

It is the ads, they are terrible. I am a member of a bunch of forums, this one is by far the worst for speed and it is the ads they run that is causing the issues. I finally edited my HOSTS file to block the ads and it is as fast as any other site. Bing adblock for Edge and you should find some relief.

The forums here are terrible. On my 2520, I can't even log in because the site locks constantly. On my work SP3, it takes forever to even be able to make a comment. On my home Spectre x360 it sends my fan into overdrive.

Seriously, I want to support the site but this is just ridiculous, just too many ads. Chrome seems to handle things a bit better (as IE and Edge are just slow to a crawl), but you would think being a Microsoft Focused site, it would be optimized for Edge/IE.

Only suggestion I can make is use an ad-blocker or things are a little better in Chrome.

One of the biggest reasons I don't use Edge much is because of the lack of plug-ins. Was hoping they would come out last month, but sadly, not yet. So until then, I'm using IE with AdBlock Plus, and loving it.

There's something seriously wrong in how they implement ads on this site, everything just crawls. I really hope the site administrator sorts it out soon.

Yeah, the site has been almost unusable for over a month for me. From IE 11/Edge even typing in the forums has become a problem. Sometimes I need to type out my responses in notepad and then copy them into the reply window because the window lags so badly, it's ridiculous and it's going to drive me to actually install adblock software.

*Update, I just installed Adblock Plus for IE, add to turn on the status bar after installing in order to access settings for it. In the adblock settings I unchecked "Allow some non-intrusive advertising", the site runs much much better now.

At least it's not just me. I was thinking maybe it was due to the low end Atom processor on Surface 3.
