I've been using the Skype app for SMS (as an all in one solution) and find it rather annoying. It is slow to load, you can't send a true MMS (the picture and text are sent as separate messages, for example), still no transparent tile for mobile even though they said it was coming in an update soon, among other little UI and function annoyances.
My question for the OP and others in this thread,
I'm thinking of going back to the Messaging app but want to have the option to reply to texts if I'm on my PC. Is it correct that Cortana still allows this to happen? I found an older article stating this but was wondering if things have since changed.
Thanks!
It's funny. I just got an x3 and I could have sworn the Cortana integration worked. But I haven't noticed it since, maybe bcuz i turned on the skype integration. One option is to simply use the skype integration when you need to do work on your PC and want to get texts. Any other time switch to messenger as primary. Or you could just use skype as primary and just text from messenger when you'd like.
Skype is ideal and it's a lot less buggy when it first came out. My only real issue is the start up lag.
