... is un-repairable :straight: Really? So, they're telling me the hold-up has been them waiting for new phones to be in stock as they didn't want to replace it with a refurb. This all seems kind of odd. Oh well, 3 weeks with my 920 and now 3-ish weeks without. This still kind of sucks.

you are complaining that you have to wait for a new phone because yours is bricked?:amaze:

Have you tried to revive the phone using the method posted in the forum? Not sure how you bricked yours, but worth the try.

Yeah, I tried. You cannot use that method with Windows 8 and I wasn't replacing my PC's OS to try to fix my phone. lol Oh, and to congusano I'm not complaining about the new phone. I'm upset that it took this long and I didn't have any contact from Nokia until I initiated it.

Hmm, did this on my Windows 8 desktop without any problem...

Huh... I tried and it kept asking me install things that were missing and even after I did it kept asking for the same things over and over. *shrug*

Did with win8, smooth and easy..but I'd rather I cant do it and get a new one..

Yeah. you just have to right click the installer and set compatibility mode in the installer after you've installed VC 2010 and 2005. It works then.

i didn't do it but i think on windows 7 can be done with 64 bit not the 32 version
or windows 8 . to me if needed it worth changing the Pc OS..or even the whole Pc..it is a lumia 920 man

So compassionate , wish you the best with your phone

Not uncampassionate. Just seems like the op was told "we don't want to replace your phone with a refurb, but we'll have to wait a few weeks to send you a new one" What more could they have done?

Have an adequate supply on hand.
Family member had an iPhone a few years ago that had awful battery drain.
iPhones were contrained at the time. Couldn't buy one new.
They replaced it from inventory on the spot.
And I am no fan of Apple.

I am not happy about the wait but, the worst part about it to me is the fact they didn't communicate any of it to me until I contacted them.

AT&T gave me the same "we're out of stock" run-around when my 920 had the crazy dust-under-screen and dusty camera issue. I asked for a replacement from another OEM, and they offered me an iPhone. I went for the 16 GB 8X instead, and don't regret it.
