Anyone know how to prevent video on webpages like CNN, ABC News, etc. from automatically playing on the touch-enabled Internet Explorer?

So annoying.

The normal way would be: Tools>Safety>ActiveX Filtering; not sure if it applies to SP3

No such options I can see on the Metro version. Desktop IE, yes. Touch version, not as far as I can tell.

I've been wondering about this as well.

I believe this is controlled by the Web site itself. There was so much noise about this for facebook that FB added a setting in options to turn it off.

Yes, this is true. But there are simple ways on Desktop IE, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc. to stop it. Apparently no one knows how to do it on a Surface with Metro/Modern IE...?

Settings in desktop IE carries over to modern IE I believe. You should definitely give that ActiveX filtering a shot. Also, make sure you have tracking protection

Nope. Nothing I've done has been able to stop the auto play videos on sites like CNN.com when viewed on Modern IE. Is anyone able to go to CNN and not have a video automatically play? Easy to stop in other browsers...

I'm struggling with this as well. Would love to know how to stop auto play!
