Storage sense failed to download map to SD card in 8.1 lumia 1520

[WPCentral Question]

My 1520 was updated to 8.1 and Storage Sense looked very useful. I could tarnsfer apps to SD card including Here Drive+ and Here Maps. However it could not manage to download the new maps to SD card even I set store all 4 categories to SD card. I deleted all maps and started new download from Storage Sense>SD card>maps>. But maps still went to Phone instead of SD card. Wondering if any phone settings affect this outcome.

Thanks. Dowloaded Sysapp and directed me to a site where Lumia storage check is visible, but sill unable to download due to geo block, I suppose.

Then change your region for downloading the app.. I think that's the last option you have...

As of Nov 2015, this whole thread is obsolete. With updates to 8.1 and all versions of 10, the OS on both the phone and desktops have significant problems with microSD cards. This has been admitted by MS and they have said they are working on it but without any date for a solution.

Some related examples. OneDrive cannot be set to sync to the microSD card on a Win10 desktop/tablet. Win10 backup won't backup the microSD card, often doesn't even recognize that one is installed.
