Surface 2 office and hardware update (nov 28)

Looked at my windows update and there is a system hardware update and a bunch of office 2013 updates. I can't find the change logs to the system hardware update. Also whats new in the office updates?

They're on the Microsoft Knowledgebase.

Search for the update numbers (KBxxxxxx) for the change logs behind each update.

As for Office updates, if it's not major, it's generally big fixes and stability improvements.

The system hardware update is not a kb update.

Hmm. I see. Shouldn't you be able to see the updates you installed from Windows Update?

I've just applied the update, and have confirmed that it has updated the Audio Drivers (datestamp of 26-Nov-2013, version 9.17.13.2774). Not sure if it has done anything else though. May have resolved the low volume issue (?)

Since installing this update my volume has returned to normal. Very happy now.

Normal as compared to the old Surface RT? Or normal compared to what your Surface 2 was when you initially got it.

I'm still not convinced that the speakers are as good as they show be....

Update on Surface 2 Sound Issues

From what I can determine, the volume is definitely higher, now.

The volume is higher than when the Surface 2 shipped. Basically it's the same volume as the first update last month minus the issues it was presenting. Hopefully it stays that way.

Still think the speaker hardware inside is a bit rubbish though.
