Surface 2 (RT) - Bricked

Nice little windows update last Friday, only for the device to get stuck in the dreaded automatic repair loop.

What was nice though is MS didn't even give any advice on how to fix it (I had tried a restore but it wasn't getting that far anyway) and they just sent me a shipping label to sent it back.

Its a shame they have so many Surface 2's left over as it would have been nice to have a little upgrade.

Suspicious that they were so quick to get the device sent back, has anyone else had any similar issues of late?

sounds like they looked for the quick fix rather than trying to troubleshoot...enjoy your refurbished unit, hope you don't get any dead pixels!

Re: Surface 2 (RT) - Bricked

My Surface 2 still goes strong.
Problems until now are
- If I want to copy a website link (using the on board keyboard) I can highlight it but the dropdown menu for copy etc does not appear. I have to "close" the onboard keyboard and then the dropdown menu appears.
- If I use Notepad it is "difficult" to select text or a link. So before I know it the website is opened but I just wanted to copy the link.
- Ones a while TapTip.exe uses about 80% of the CPU (no idea why)
- A month or 2 ago the SD card was regular not recognized. (but now no problem anymore).

But overall no big problems.

Any dead pixels will mean another replacement, as for refurbished unit, I'd imagine there trying to get rid of all the new ones there stuck with first, shame though as I would have preferred a store voucher.
