Surface 3 and Dock, dual screens using DP1.2 daisy-chain/MST?

Hi All

Can anyone confirm if the Surface 3 can drive 2 additional screens (perhaps 3 including it's own display) when daisy-chaining them via DisplayPort 1.2?

Not interested in driving additional screens via USB.

Thanks

Daisy chaining through the displayport won't work, Microsoft already confirmed that in their Reddit AMA not too long ago. The Atom x7 supports it but MS locked that feature out, they want you to get the SP3 if you need to daisy chain through DP. The only way to output to morn than one monitor using the Surface 3 is to rely on DP and a Miracast wireless receiver, DP and a USB monitor, or some other combination of the two. You cannot output to more than one monitor through the mini displayport.

Thanks, that's a real shame :(

Also I had a MS support person (though live chat on the website) confirm that you can also have dual screens with 1 monitor plugged into the DP on the dock and the second monitor plugged into the DP on the Surface itself.

but how could you reach the dp when you use the dock?
that should not work imho :D

They may be confusing that with the SP3 station as you can do that with it since it goes through the power port.
With the S3 station, it has DP 1.1 which doesn't support daisy chaining. You can try a display port hub through the USB 3.0 spot.
