Hi! In my Surface 3 (not Pro) with Windows 8.1, I've just upgraded Office 2013 to Office 2016 via Office 365 subscription. There are a few issues I've encountered, especially with OneNote 2016.
1. I set the top button click to launch the desktop version of OneNote. In OneNote 2013, this works flawlessly. In OneNote 2016, however, when I click the top button, Surface 3 just goes into the desktop without opening the OneNote 2016.
I've tried to change the preference in Surface app to open the modern OneNote and change it back to open the desktop OneNote, but this doesn't work.
2. I've installed the Microsoft Mathematics 4.0 add-in for Word and OneNote. Before upgrading to Office 2016, the add-in always loads and creates a new Mathematics ribbon. After upgrading, the add-in shows up in Word 2016, but doesn't show in OneNote 2016.
I've tried to check the add-in option from OneNote 2016, and it is checked. I've tried to check the registry configuration, and both Word 2016 and OneNote 2016 have load option set to 9. (I forget the exact load option name in the registry.) Someone in the internet suggests to change the registry value to 3, but after the Surface 3 restarts, the Mathematics ribbon still persistently won't appear.
Anyone has the same problem? Is there any suggestion to overcome this? Thank you!
