Just got my Surface 3 + Blue type cover today... opened up the keyboard package to find that the F3 key was loose inside the packaging. It doesn't look broken, and it seems like it can be just re-attached but I cant figure out how it goes back on. Anyone able to give me a hand with this? Would rather not have to ship this back and have to wait ages for a replacement.

Most keys like that, you should just be able to push really hard and "snap" it back on.

Pics??

yep...just position it and push it on until it snaps into place.

And if that doesn't work and you end up breaking it....

I bought it from MS online, nearest MS store is over an hour away. BestBuy wouldn't swap out for one purchased from MS would they? I doubt it ><

Sure they would...they shouldn't care.

Just walk in tomorrow and say you opened the box and it was like that (without mentioning that it was shipped to you and ordered through the MS Store). Since it is a swap, they will probably just give you a replacement and send that one back to MS.

At least worth a try so you're not sirtting around for a week waiting for a replacement...and the hassle of shipping that one back.

It's a bit tricky to tell from the pictures, but mozman68 is right. For laptop keyboards, as long as it doesn't look like the socket or keyboard key are broken, you should just be able to snap it back on. Position it where it should go and push kinda hard.
Again, based on what can be seen in the pics, you might want to try positioning it just a bit south of dead center, then push down and north a bit on it.

At the very least Best Buy might have someone willing to try snapping it back on for you.
